Principle Software Engineer Profile

The candidate must have strong technical background in Java, C++ is a plus. The candidate must have solid understanding of the software development lifecycle and be able to understand and follow the Midrange Software Development Process. The candidate must demonstrate flexibility, strong motivation, and excellent problem solving skills.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of software engineers/junior software engineers.
- Clarify new feature requirements, design software to meet the requirements, and implement the design.
- Analyze issues encountered in the product and design, implement, and test fixes to address them.
- Interface with other developers and QA.
- Handle multiple problems and priorities.
- Write functional specification and designdo
cuments.
- Practice well-structured programming practices, unit testing &
softwaredo
cumentation.
- Provide support for QA anddo
cumentation efforts.
- Mentor other developers.
Experience &
Skills
- Team leadership and management
- Bachelors of Computer Science with 6-10 years experience of software development. Master’s degree preferred.
- Must have an understanding of object-oriented concepts and methodologies.
- Strong experience in Core Java and/or C++. Some experience with Web Services, CIM/WBEM is a plus.
- Proficient at debugging applications interfacing with other systems, with multi-threaded algorithms.
- Familiar with networks, network management and system management.
- Knowledge of SAN (Storage Area Networks) is a plus.
- Excellent communication &
problem solving skills.
- Must be willing to travel to US on short trips (1-12 weeks) for training &
project coordination.
