无论偏好,和感情上我还是极其喜欢borland的工具。。。
并且我一直孜孜不倦地使用新的borland的产品,虽然工作中很多项目转向ms vs,但还是

Letter to our customers, partners, and fans from Ben Smith, CEO CodeGear - by David Intersimone
Abstract: This article contains a personal letter from Ben Smith, CodeGear's CEO, to our customers, partners, and fans.
Dear Developer Tools Group customers, partners and fans,
I am very excited and pleased to announce CodeGear, a new organization that will be 100% dedicated to the developer tools market, providing innovative products that maximize individual developer productivity. CodeGear will be a separate wholly-owned subsidiary of Borland Software, but will have its own brand, its own management team, R&D organization, sales and marketing strategy, and a separate global operating infrastructure.
This is an exciting time for everyone here at CodeGear, as we now are a separate business solely focused on you - the developer community.
Even though we are officially only one day old, CodeGear has many great things going for it that very few other startups have: a 23-year legacy of innovation helping developers to be more productive at their ever-changing jobs, a large and loyal customer base, and multi-year product roadmaps that have been co-developed over the last year with our customers. We also have an extremely talented team of enthusiastic and experienced individuals who are dedicated to this community and finding new ways of serving this very important market.
The entire CodeGear team wants to thank you for all of your support over the last year as we've made the necessary decisions and operational changes to get us to this point. After a lengthy due diligence process with several serious bidders, Borland determined that forming CodeGear was the best way to not only maximize the value of the former Developer Tools Group, but to ensure the brightest future for CodeGear’s IDE product lines, and the customers and developer community that depend on them.
Going forward, CodeGear will be responsible for advancing Developer Studio (Delphi, C++Builder and C#Builder), JBuilder, Turbo and Interbase, for which we already have solid roadmaps in place. Our plan is to execute as we've promised, and to continue to deliver new innovative products such as our upcoming JBuilder Java IDE built on the Eclipse framework (formerly known as “Peloton”). We’re also working on plans that can help developers take advantage of growing and emerging areas like web services, Ruby, Python and Ajax. Stay tuned!
We expect the separation to be complete before the end of this year, and are working to ensure there are no interruptions to the service we offer you or the product roadmaps we’ve communicated publicly. We will continue to keep you updated on CodeGear news and events on the existing Developer Network site until we establish our own CodeGear site (coming soon!).
I’m extremely excited to be working hand-in-hand with the rest of the CodeGear leadership team as we continue to bring you the most powerful, innovative developer-focused tools on the market.
Ben Smith
CEO, CodeGear
