NetShow Player and Streaming Enhancements

Improved ActiveX-based Client and Programmability - As an ActiveX
control, the NetShow On-Demand Player can be embedded within any
ActiveX container (formerly known as an OCX container), such as
Microsoft Internet Explorer, Microsoft Visual Basic, and Microsoft
Office applications. The NetShow On-Demand Player provides many new
properties, methods, and events to allow Application Developers to
have better control over how the Player operates and is displayed.

New Loss-Tolerant Image Technology - Netshow includes a new loss-
tolerant JPEG filter. With this feature the end-user will be able to
view streamed loss tolerant JPEG images, even if a large number of
image packets are lost due to high network traffic.

Fine-tuned Synchronization of Multimedia Content - The NetShow
Beta 1 release already allowed you to stream synchronized images, audio, video, and URLs. Netshow now includes the capability to
synchronize ScriptCommands (e.g., VB Script commands) within the
stream. With this capability a content developer can send flexible
user-defined commands at specific times to an embedded player,
enabling more sophisticated authoring control
NetShow Tool Enhancements

Improved Interface for ASF Editor - Beta 1 of the ASF Editor
provided content developers with flexibility in synchronizing
multimedia content for playback at different bit rates. Netshow now
provides a fine-tuned interface and capabilities for authoring
content using the new features available in the player.

Improved Audio and Video Conversion Utilities - The audio and
video conversion utilities included in Beta 1 already provided easy
conversion of existing WAV, AVI, and MOV (Quicktime) files to the ASF
file format. Netshow now includes performance enhancements to each
of these tools, as well as the ability to author the previously
referenced content and player features.

New user interface - which allows an administrator to create, save
and reload a multicast session. A session is a description of the
audio source or file to be multicast, together with all other
settings that can be applied. The NetShow administrator can author
sessions, then
save these for later multicasting.
